push back on customer or manager with data
Pushing back is a GPS reality, and the panel wants proof you do it PROFESSIONALLY — with evidence, not ego. Method: 1) You don't say no — you say 'here's what I see and here's what I recommend, and here's the data behind it.' 2) You lead with FACTS/measurements, not opinion. 3) You acknowledge their goal first ('I understand you want this running by Friday'). 4) If you still disagree after evidence, you escalate respectfully and document. The key line: 'I argue with data, not volume, and I stay focused on the best outcome for the customer.' Give a real example where you pushed back on an approach with evidence and it led to a better result. Never frame it as winning an argument.
