Introduce Mostek Mk4096 as the Defining Part
# Introduce the Mostek MK4096 as the Generation-Defining Part
Mostek shipped the MK4096 as the part that defined this generation commercially, pairing the 4,096-bit array with multiplexed row and column addressing in a single design.
The MK4096 used a sixteen-pin package, a dramatic reduction from what an unmultiplexed 4K design would have required, and that pin count became the template every later DRAM generation followed.
Because Mostek combined the density target with the addressing fix in one shipped product, the MK4096 is treated as the part that generation-defined the 4K DRAM step, not merely one competing design among many.
