tell me about a time you simplified something complex
This is a core GPS skill — you have to explain hard technical things to customers and trainees. STAR. S/T: a genuinely complex technical topic you had to make understandable to a non-expert (a customer, a new engineer, a less-technical teammate). A: how you simplified — you found the analogy/core concept, you cut jargon, you used a visual/story, you checked they understood by asking them to repeat it back. R: they got it and could act on it. WHY IT WINS: 'explains difficult or sensitive information' is literally in your JD. Show simplification WITHOUT losing accuracy — that's the skill. For you: explaining ellipsometry or a metrology concept to a non-specialist is a natural example.
