upw (ultra-pure water)
UPW (Ultra-Pure Water) is the highest grade of deionized water with sub-ppb contaminant levels for critical semiconductor processes. **Purity**: Beyond standard DI - metals at ppt (parts per trillion) levels, particles per liter measured in single digits, TOC < 1 ppb. **Advanced treatment**: Standard DI plus UV oxidation, degasification, sub-micron filtration, and extensive monitoring. **Applications**: Most critical rinses, photolithography processes, final cleans before gate oxide, advanced node processing. **Specifications**: SEMI F63 defines UPW quality standards.
